On 26 April up to now acting Environmental Minister Mr. Jerzy Swaton has resigned because of personal reasons. On 24 May 2005, Mr. Aleksander Kwaœniewski, President of the Republic of Poland, appointed Mr. Tomasz Podgajniak, Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, as the Minister of the Environment. Mr. Podgajniak has been a reliable partner of International Dialogue Centre in the past. He has participated in the IDCED conferences in September 2004 in Osnabrück and December 2004 in Warsaw. He has contributed greatly to our work through his suggestions and views regarding cross border environmental issues integration private industry. We congratulate Mr. Podgajniak and hope for a further on successful co-operation with him and his ministry. |
